General Operating Instructions

MA Luxury Timepieces Automatic Watches

MA Luxury Timepieces manufactures self-winding or “automatic” timepieces.  In the event that an automatic watch has not been worn for awhile and has stopped, turn the crown clockwise a few times to wind it, then set it to the proper time by pulling the winding stem out one notch.  Please understand that sufficient activity (arm motion) is required to build up enough power reserve for the watch to run overnight.  If your watch is not equipped with a manual wind function, but is still a self-winding timepiece, you must shake the watch several times to get it started.

Care & Maintenance of Your Watch

To maximize the enjoyment of your MA Luxury Timepieces Timepiece, care should be taken to avoid moisture, dust, and shock.  The following sections outline various precautions you should take to ensure proper operation of your MA Luxury Timepieces timepiece.

Like any finely crafted mechanism, periodic maintenance is required for optimal performance.  Maintenance includes complete disassembly, cleaning, re-assembly, and lubrication of the movement by a certified professional.

A maintenance interval of three to five years is recommended.

NEVER open the watch yourself.  Doing so could allow dust and moisture to enter the watchcase or could cause damage to the gaskets, the movement, or the watchcase.  If your watch needs repair or adjustment, you may send it to an authorized service center.

NOTE:  MA Luxury Timepieces assumes responsibility only for service performed at it’s authorized service centers.  The opening of a MA Luxury Timepieces timepiece or repair by any unauthorized party voids the warranty.

Shock

All MA Luxury Timepieces timepieces have shock-resistance movements tested to meet quality standards.  As a precaution, do not wear MA Luxury Timepieces timepieces while engaging in sporting events or while rough housing to prevent possible damage to the crystal, watchcase, or bracelet.

Magnetism

The exposure of your watch to strong magnetic fields will affect it’s timekeeping and may cause it to stop.  A mechanical timepiece may require demagnetization.

Dust

MA Luxury Timepieces timepieces have precision-made parts with tolerances up to 1/1000 mm.  A small particle of dust is enough to stop the timepiece from functioning properly.  Dust can enter a timepiece if the case, crystal, or crown is not intact.  A loose, chipped, or cracked crystal should be replaced immediately.  If you do not wear your timepiece for a prolonged period, store it in it’s original box in a dry place.

Leather Straps

The leather straps on the MA Luxury Timepieces timepieces are handmade.  The skins used are specifically selected to match the beauty of the watch.  Leather needs care.  Exposure to water may cause your strap to become brittle and eventually break.  Contact with perfumes should be avoided to preserve the finish of the leather.  The life span of a strap depends on your care and wearing habits as well as the climate in which you live.  You may re-order original replacement straps for your MA Luxury Timepieces timepieces through our authorized service center.

Water Resistance

MA Luxury Timepieces water-resistant watches are tested to meet quality standards.  Water resistance is achieved by installing seals between the major parts of the watchcase.  Your timepiece is fitted with a series of gaskets and a specially designed crown which together seal the timepiece and prevent moisture from entering the case.  In order to maintain the integrity of this water-resistant system, periodic maintenance is required.  The gaskets and crown are subject to wear and deterioration under conditions of normal use.  Therefore, these parts should be inspected and replaced as needed each time the watch is opened for service.  CAUTION:  MA Luxury Timepieces shall not be responsible for any damage caused by or related to leakage which originated from improper handling or damage to the case, crown, gaskets, or crystal.
